CPS Board Approves Library Collection Development Policy

At its March 2006 meeting, the Chicago Public Schools Board of Education approved the district’s first Collection Development policy for all CPS school libraries. School librarians and principals need to be familiar with this policy, including the procedure to follow in the event of a challenge or complaint regarding library materials. When such concerns are not resolved quickly and informally, provide the complaining party with the form below and contact your area library coordinator in the Department of Literacy: Libraries.
